Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in a few places of the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces and at a few places elsewhere on Saturday afternoon, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is also likely in some high-hill and Himalayan areas.

During the night, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places in the rest of the country. One or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces may receive heavy rain. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is also likely in one or two places in the high-hill and Himalayan regions.

According to the division, monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country. The monsoon trough lies close to the average position in the east and slightly north of the average in the west.
