The weather is expected to remain generally to partly cloudy across the country throughout Monday, with light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning likely at some places, particularly in hilly regions, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

Heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces during the day. Light to moderate snowfall or rain is also possible at a few locations in the high-hill and mountainous areas.

Tonight, the conditions will remain generally to partly cloudy, with a few places in the hilly regions and some other parts likely to receive light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning.

Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces tonight. Light to moderate snowfall or rain is expected in the high-hill and mountainous regions.

The Division said the monsoon system remains active across the country, with the monsoon trough located near its average position.
