The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country throughout Monday, with widespread chances of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in many places of the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in Sudurpaschim Province and one or two locations in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is also likely in a few areas of the high-hill and Himalayan regions.

During the night, the sky will remain generally cloudy. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in some hilly areas of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few locations in other parts of the country. One or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces may also receive heavy rain.

The division said the monsoon system is currently active across Nepal, with the monsoon trough slightly north of its average position, particularly near western Nepal.
