The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted widespread rainfall across Nepal over the next 24 hours, as the monsoon system continues to affect the entire country.
According to the division, skies will remain generally to fully cloudy throughout Sunday. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in many parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Some areas in the remaining provinces are also expected to receive showers.
The division has also warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in a few locations of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. One or two places in the hilly regions of the other provinces may also witness intense downpours. Light to moderate snowfall or rain is likely in some areas of the high-hill and mountainous regions.
Similar weather patterns are expected to persist into the night, with the risk of heavy rain continuing in western Nepal. The division has urged people residing in hilly and mountainous areas to remain alert for possible landslides and flooding.
