Most parts of the country are expected to see light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning on Friday, with heavy rainfall forecast for some hilly and mountainous regions, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

During the day, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain is likely in some hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places elsewhere.

There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Light to moderate snowfall or rain is expected at a few locations in the high hills and Himalayan regions of all provinces.

Thunderstorms are likely at a few places in the Tarai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as at some places in Madhesh Province.

During the night, the sky will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder is likely at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places in other provinces.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The division said the current weather pattern is due to the influence of monsoon winds across the country.
