The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said that monsoon winds are currently active across the country, with rainfall likely in most regions throughout the day and night.

This afternoon, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected nationwide. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of the hilly regions and a few places elsewhere. Heavy rain is possible at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Light snowfall or rain is also likely in a few areas of the high-hill and Himalayan regions.

Tonight, cloudy conditions are forecast to persist across the country. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in many parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places in other provinces. One or two locations in these provinces may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall. Light to moderate snowfall or rain is also likely in some high-hill and Himalayan areas.
