The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in many parts of the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces this afternoon. A few places in the remaining areas could also experience showers.

Heavy rain is likely at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi Province, and in parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Light rain or snowfall is also expected at a few places in high-hill and Himalayan regions.

During the night, skies across the country will remain partly to mostly cloudy. Many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and a few parts of other provinces, are likely to witness light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few locations in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, while heavy rain is expected at one or two places in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is also forecast in high-hill and Himalayan regions.

The division said the current weather pattern is due to the ongoing influence of monsoon winds over the country.
