Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some places of all seven provinces on Tuesday, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

High-hill and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki could also witness light rain or snowfall at a few places, it said.

The division also said that conditions will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country both during the day and night. During the night, some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall. One or two locations in Koshi, Gandaki and Lumbini may also receive heavy to very heavy rain.

Currently, monsoon winds are active over parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and eastern Lumbini provinces, while western Nepal is under the partial influence of westerly and local winds, according to the division.
