The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in several parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces throughout Monday.

According to the division, a few places in the remaining provinces may also receive rainfall. One or two areas in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces are at risk of heavy to very heavy downpour.

Light snowfall is expected in some high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. One or two locations in the mountainous regions of other provinces could also receive snowfall.

The division said the country will remain partly to generally cloudy tonight as well, with continued chances of light to moderate rain and thunder in many areas.

Monsoon winds are currently active in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and eastern Lumbini, while the western region is experiencing partial influence of westerly and local winds, the division said.
