The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the country on Sunday, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in many areas.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces and a few areas elsewhere are likely to receive light to moderate rain this afternoon. One or two places in Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati may also experience heavy rainfall.

Light rain or snowfall is likely at a few locations in the high-hill and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki, and at one or two places in other high-elevation areas.

Similar conditions are expected to continue into the night. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is forecast at several places in Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim, with heavy rain likely in isolated locations of these provinces.

The division said monsoon winds are currently active over parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and eastern Lumbini, while western and local winds are partially influencing the country’s western region.
