The Meteorological Forecasting Division said light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in several parts of the country on Tuesday, particularly in the hilly and Tarai regions.

In Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, light snowfall is possible at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions. The Division said brief thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected in the hilly and Tarai belts during the day and night.

In the Madhesh Province, light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places during the day, while the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy to generally fair at night with chances of rain at isolated locations.

Hilly regions of all provinces are forecast to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the day. Rain activity is likely to be more intense in the late afternoon and evening hours.

The Division has urged the public to take necessary precautions against possible lightning strikes, gusty winds, and localised rainfall.
