The country is currently under the influence of a westerly disturbance and local wind patterns, with moisture-laden air entering from the Bay of Bengal, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The Division said that partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly regions this afternoon, while other areas will see partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas.

Light rain and snowfall are also expected in some Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Meanwhile, parts of the Tarai region in Lumbini Province may experience gusty winds.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in hilly areas and mostly clear elsewhere. A few places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may witness light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning. Light rain and snowfall are also likely in some Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
