Parts of the hilly regions in Koshi and Bagmati provinces are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms on Thursday, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Other hilly areas of the country, including Gandaki Province, could also see sporadic rainfall tonight.

The weather forecast for today shows that hilly areas will be partly to generally cloudy, while other regions of Nepal will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear.

The rainfall, caused by the influence of monsoon winds, is expected to persist in some regions tonight as well. The monsoon trough remains around its average position in the west and slightly south of its normal position in the east, affecting weather conditions across the country.

Janakpur recorded the highest temperature at 37.4°C, Jomsom saw the lowest at 10.5°C, and Taplejung received the highest rainfall with 2.6 mm.
