On Tuesday, the country is expected to witness partly to generally cloudy conditions throughout the day, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in several parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces.
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in one or two locations within these provinces. Brief thundershowers may also occur in some areas of other provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
Tonight, similar weather conditions are expected, with partly to generally cloudy skies across the country. Light rain or thunderstorms may occur in a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while one or two places in the remaining provinces may also experience light precipitation.
The met office said the monsoon trough is positioned south of its average location in the west and near its average location in the east.
On Monday, the highest maximum temperature was recorded at Dipayal at 35.8°C, while the lowest minimum temperature was observed at Jiri at 14.9°C. The highest rainfall in the past 24 hours was recorded in Dharan at 28.5 mm.
