The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast partly cloudy weather in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province and mainly fair in the rest of the country for Thursday.

The division said light rain or thunder and lightning are likely to occur at a few places in the hilly regions of Koshi and at one or two places in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali.

Light snowfall is possible at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, Karnali Province and the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali will be partly cloudy. According to the division forecast, light rain or thunder and lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali.

In view of possible snowfall at one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, the department has urged the people to remain alert as there will be partial impact on daily life as well as agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road and air transport in those areas.

Nepalgunj recorded the highest temperature, 40.2 degrees Celsius, on Wednesday, while Jumla’s minimum temperature dropped to 5.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

According to the department, today’s maximum temperature in Kathmandu is likely to remain between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius.
