Two Guthi officials arrested for bribery

A team from the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Tuesday took two officials of the Guthi Sansthan, including the chief administrator, into custody for taking a bribe in a case related to a plot of land in Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 1.
The anti-graft body said in a press statement that Chief Administrator Narayan Chaudhary and Deputy Administrator Jaya Prasad Regmi were arrested in a sting operation after they were found to have taken a bribe to settle the land case.
“They are in our custody and investigation is undergoing,” Pradeep Koirala, spokesperson for the commission, said.
According to Minraj Chaudhary, chairman of the Guthi Sansthan, he didn’t know the details about the case, which involves reclaiming the land originally belonging to the Guthi Sansthan.
