A car driver, who allegedly assaulted a pedestrian near Kathmandu’s Chappal Karkhana, has been arrested.
The video showing the driver punching the pedestrian went viral on social media, prompting police action.
Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Thapa of Kathmandu District Police Range confirmed that the driver, identified as Paras Bam, has been taken into custody by the traffic police.
The footage also shows a woman exiting the vehicle, shouting at the pedestrian, while a Sajha Yatayat bus is seen near the scene. Authorities are analysing the video to verify the circumstances leading to the incident.
