The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a graft case against 38 officials of the Transport Management Office, Lalitpur, including Ananda Keshari Pokharel, an under-secretary and chief officer.
The anti-graft body said in a press statement that it filed the case at the Special Court on Sunday for issuing driving licences to 1,284 people who had failed the driving licence tests in April, May and June 2012.
The officials were found to have changed the results of candidates who had failed the trial and forged the records of new licences and other documents issued during the period. They also had failed to maintain records of the revenue collected in the process, according to the statement.
