The Government has decided to honour athletes, coaches and officials winning laurels for the nation in various competitions with cash prize worth Rs 15.6 million. The prize recipients include those from cricket, football, bodybuilding and South Asian Games. 

The meeting of the Council of Ministers on February 8 took the decision, according to Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota.

Likewise, the cabinet decided to table the National Sports Development Bill, 2075, the Safeguards, anti-dumping and counter-vailing Bill, 2075 in the federal parliament and approved the Prime Minister Employment Programme Operation Directive, 2075, and Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee formation (first amendment) order, 2075.
