Ram Chandra Poudel faction of Nepali Congress (NC) has accused party president Sher Bahadur Deuba working in a totalitarian manner against party statue and principle.
A meeting of NC leaders of close to Poudel convened at Sujata Koirala’s residence in Mandikatar expressed concerns over a totalitarian working style of Deuba. They concluded that Deuba's move to appoint Bijay Kumar Gachhadar as party vice president was against party’s norms and values.
Poudel faction had repeatedly asked Deuba to follow party statue and principle while appointing a vice president. But Deuba, in a blatant disregard to the faction’s concern, appointed Gachhadar to the post calling it a political decision.
Leader Arjun Narsingh KC, one of the attendees of the meeting, said they will protest such unilateral decision by party president. KC said Deuba imposed his authority despite knowing that the decision was against the party principle.
Besides KC, senior leaders Poudel, General Secretary Shashank Koirala, Prakash Man Singh, and central members Ram Sharan Mahat, Sekhar Koirala and Sujata were present in the meeting.
