Two persons, who jumped out of a window of the third floor to escape police raid at a gambling den in Mulpani-7, Kathmandu on Friday, have died.
The deceased have been identified as Saroj Ghale and Som Lal Tamang.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, raided the gambling den operated at the three-storey house of Tendu Sherpa last night.
Critically injured in the incident, Ghale and Tamang were rushed to a hospital but breathed their last during the course of treatment.
Police said that they have arrested 24 gamblers and Rs 458,000 in cash from the scene.
SSP Bastant Lama of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, said that house owner Tendu Sherpa was found charging Rs 10,000 per night.
