The subscription scheme winner receives 1kg gold worth Rs4.5 million.
KMG executives picked the winner at a lucky draw event held at Labim Mall in Pulchowk, Kathmandu on Friday.
KMG’s Kantipur Swarnapur campaign started on March 28 for the subscribers of the Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post daily newspapers.
The bus committee subscribes to Kantipur newspaper since the last six years.
Samiti branch head Umesh Chandra Jha said, “We were not aware about the lucky draw. When I was told through a phone call that our committee has won 1kg gold, I was speechless.”
“I really thank Kantipur Media Group for organising such scheme for its subscribers. They have shown that they also care for their buyers and readers,” Jha said.
Since the committee, and not an individual, has won the gold, they would hold a meeting and decide on using the gold for a good cause, he added.
Similarly, Hemanta Stationery of Butwal has won a ‘Renault Kwid’ in the n‘Mahabikreta Lucky Draw’.
The draw was conducted among the dealers of the daily papers published by KMG.
Trilochan Gyawali, 47, owner of the stationery, has been a dealer of Kantipur Publications for 23 years.
Talking to the Post, Gyawali said, “I was excited when I got the call from the Publication. I knew that the lucky draw was going on, but I could not watch the lucky draw live as I was busy in my work.”
“My years of hard work have finally won me a really beautiful gift. I will go for a ride with my family after I receive the new car,” he said.
Pop singer Nima Rumba added colour to the event by his live performance.
