President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena left for home on Sunday after concluding his two-day long goodwill visit to Nepal. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav bade farewell to Sri Lankan President Sirisena at the VIP longue of Tribhuvan International Airport. 

The Sri Lankan President and his spouse Jayanthi Pushpa Kumari were on a goodwill visit to Nepal from September 1 at the invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari. 

The President of Sri Lanka had arrived in Nepal on August 29 by leading the Sri Lankan delegation in the Fourth BIMSTEC Summit that concluded on August 31. 

Earlier in the day, he visited the Aanadakuti Bihar in Swayambhu, Kathmandu.

Sirisena also took a view of the Buddha's relics at the Bihar. On the occasion, the President also inspected the Bihar as it was under renovation with the financial support of Sri Lanka. 

Sanghanayak Bhikshu Mahasthabir, patron at the Bihar Bhikshu Maitri Mahasthabir and All Nepal Bhikshu Federation General secretary Kaudanya Mahasthabir, among others, briefed the President Sirisena about the activities of the Bihar. 

On the occasion, a replica of the Lord Buddha was handed over to the President and the President had also provided an artistic silver urn to the Bihar.
