Kantipur scribe Miya bags Community Forest Journalism Award

The Kantipur Publications scribe Abdullah Miya has bagged ‘Community Forest Journalism Award-2018’ for his reporting on forest conservation and environment.
Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Basnet handed over the certificates to Miya and Dhunkuta correspondent of Gorkhapatra, Kokila Bhandari,for covering forest conservation and environment at a programmeorganised on the occasion of Community Forestry Day in the Capital on Friday.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000 each. The Department of Forest and Soil Conservation has been providing Community Forest Journalism Award to a woman and a man since last year.
On the occasion, the ministry has also awarded a group and a person for their contribution in conserving forests.
