While talking to journalists at the office of Kantipur Media Group (KMG) at Thapathali in Kathmandu on Thursday, Minister Banskota said the government formed a three-member committee only to hold talks with Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging hunger strike since June 30 demanding reforms in the medical sector.
“Government is ready to hold talks that is why the committee was formed,” he said, adding, “Talks is the only way to resolve any kind of problems.”
Minister Banskota who is also the spokesperson of the government said that the government has been intensifying its efforts to manage all the sectors not only medical.
Meanwhile, saying that the government is committed to protect press freedom and the rule of law, Minister Banskota said that the government would not muzzle the media.
