3 held for running betting racket
Police arrested three individuals on the charge of running a betting racket, from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15 on Tuesday. Prakat Maharjan, 22, of Mhepi, currently residing in Balaju, Rejin Maharjan, 22, of Ramghat, and Sujen Shahi, 25, of Chagal, were caught for operating a gambling racket during the match between Brazil and Mexico in the ongoing Fifa World Cup.bookmark

Police arrested three individuals on the charge of running a betting racket, from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15 on Tuesday.
Prakat Maharjan, 22, of Mhepi, currently residing in Balaju, Rejin Maharjan, 22, of Ramghat, and Sujen Shahi, 25, of Chagal, were caught for operating a gambling racket during the match between Brazil and Mexico in the ongoing Fifa World Cup.
Police recovered Rs699,000 from them.
According to police, the accused would collect money from several individuals and take commissions from winners. The arrested trio will be tried under Gambling Act.
