A special committee investigating the 33 kg gold smuggling case and the murder of Sanam Shakya has raided the house of trader Bimal Podar.
Members of the committee reached Podar’s house in Dillibazaar on Thursday. They expect to find details about transaction of smuggled gold from his house.
The committee has suspected Podar’s involvement in the smuggling of illegal gold into the country.
Podar was arrested on Tuesday evening from Dillibazaar. Committee members had quizzed him about his role in smuggling on Wednesday.
