Police on Friday confiscated 2,000 litres of bootleg home-made alcohol from various hotels and pubs in Gongabu area on Friday.
A team led by Sub-Inspector Prakash Bahadur Raut of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gongabu raided the hotels, restaurants and pubs in Gongabu area on last night and confiscated this bootleg liquor.
Mohan Bikram KC, Chief at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gongabu, said a campaign has been started to free the Gongabu area of such illicit home-brewed alcohol as they found that alcohol consumption is the reason behind the increasing disputes and quarrels which lead to violence and murder.
Before this also the Circle had confiscated and destroyed nearly 5,000 litres of home-made liquor from this area. RSS
