NSU stages demonstration to protest petro price hike

The agitators demonstrated outside government colleges including Pashupati, Tri Chandra, Ratna Rajya, Amrit Science Campus (Ascol), Saraswati and Nepal Commerce Campus, Min Bhawan demanding withdrawal of the price increment.
Addressing a protest assembly, NSU Vice President Ram Prasad Adhikari said they resorted to the agitation against the continuous rise in the price of petroleum products.
"Repeated price hike in petroleum products has caused the market price soaring, thus crippling the daily lives of people. We demand the rolling back of the price increment," he said.
As part of the protest, the NSU is scheduled to organise a torch rally in all districts on June 9, to bar vehicles belonging to government offices and corporations, from passing through all government colleges on June 10, and to burn effigy of Prime Minister across the country on June 12.
