Various students unions on Wednesday staged a sit-in outside the Department of Education to protest against high tuition fees being charged by private schools.
The All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), Nepal Students Union (NSU), All Nepal National Free Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNFSU-R), among others, staged the protest for about an hour and half outside the department in Bhaktapur.
ANNFSU Secretary RC Lamichhane said the protest was held to regulate school fees and pressure the authorities concerned to take action against those schools charging exorbitant fees.
The students unions have been protesting against the private schools for not implementing the directives issued by the Education Ministry.
