Deepak Manange has been sent to the Dillibazar Prison to serve his five-year sentence for attempted murder. He was arrested from Kathmandu on Thursday.
Manange, whose real name is Rajiv Gurung, was on the run after the Supreme Court, in January, upheld the Patan Appellate Court’s verdict on a 13-year-old gang war incident, in which Manange and his lackeys had attacked rival gang leader Milan Gurung aka Chakre.
Manange, who was elected as an independent candidate to a Provincial Assembly seat from Manang district in last year’s general elections, was served with the apex court’s order before he could take the oath of office.
Police found him hiding in Swayambhu area.
