The CPN-UML on Monday summoned an emergency meeting of its Standing Committee.

The meeting was summoned to discuss issues related to the party’s unification with the CPN (Maoist Centre) slated for April 22.

The date was fixed by the merger coordination committee for the announcement of unification between the two parties.

According to UML office Secretary Krishna Gopal Shrestha, the meeting will be held at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar at 5 pm today.

It has been learnt that UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will inform the leaders about the progress and differences about the merger.

The CPN-UML and Maoist Centre have yet to reach consensus on party symbol, whether to put people’s war in interim statute and allocation in the central committee.
