An American man has committed suicide by jumping off the sixth floor of National Trauma Center.

The American, identified as John, died on the spot after jumping off the building on Sunday, police said. Sources said he was arrested by the Immigration Department few days back for staying beyond his visa period. He was taken to the center after he fell ill following the arrest.

Police said he muscled three police personnel deployed for his security before jumping off the center’s building.

Officials said John had also attempted to commit suicide on March 30 by slitting his throat.
