Nepali Congress (NC) President and newly-elected Parliamentary Party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said his party would provide full support to the KP Sharma Oli-led government.

Addressing the Federal Parliament meeting on Tuesday, Deuba said NC is a democratic party and would extend its support to institutionalise democracy.

“We will provide our full support. But we will also watch its activities. Our role with be that of the a watchdog,” he said.

He said it was time for all to strive the country towards economic prosperity.

Deuba was elected as the party’s parliamentary party leader on Monday.
