CIAA to file another graft case against Sharma on Monday

The anti-graft body will file case against Sharma for amassing property worth around Rs 43 million through illegal means, informed CIAA Spokesperson Padam Prasad Panday. A CIAA board meeting held on Thursday had decided to file another case against Sharma of amassing property.
Sharma, currently out of contact, failed to present himself at the CIAA office despite repeated summoning. CIAA has issued a warrant against Sharma for his arrest.
On July 16, 2017, the CIAA, in one of the largest ever corruption cases, had charged Sharma and other two members of the Tax Settlement Commission (TSC)—Lumba Dhwoj Mahat and Umesh Dhakal—with embezzling revenues worth Rs10.02 billion each while exempting enterprises of taxes in dubious ways.
