SC joint bench to hear contempt of court case against Dr KC

A joint bench of Justices Om Prakash Mishra and Kedar Prasad Chalise will hear the case this afternoon.
Senior Advocates Krishna Prasad Bhandari and Dinesh Tripathi along with advocates Om Prakash Aryal and Indu Tuladhar will defend the case for Dr KC while senior advocate Raman Shrestha will plead the case for the plaintiffs.
The SC will record the statement of Dr Govinda KC, who was arrested on Monday and presented before court on Tuesday.
KC had resorted to hunger strike demanding resignation of chief justice after SC reinstated Dr Sashi Sharma as Institute of Medicine (IoM) dean.
A contempt of court writ was filed against him by SC section officer Netra Bandhu Poudyal who claimed KC had defamed the judiciary.
