The Supreme Court has begun recording statement of Dr Govinda KC, who was arrested on Monday and presented before court on Tuesday.

SC sources said that hearing on the case will begin after recording the statement from KC. KC's legal advocate Surendra Bhandari is also with him at the court.

The security around the SC has been upped with large numbers of Nepal Police and Armed Police personnel deployed in the scene.

Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli also arrived at the court at 9 am.

KC had resorted to hunger strike demanding resignation of chief justice after SC reinstated Dr Sashi Sharma as Institute of Medicine (IoM) dean.

A contempt of court writ was filed against him by SC section officer Netra Bandhu Poudyal who claimed KC had defamed the judiciary.
