5 transport officials chargesheeted for revenue embezzlement

The anti-graft body has accused under secretaries Home Nath Bhattarai and Bishnu Prasad Poudel, accountants Suresh Adhikari and Mani Raj Dahal, and joint accountant Tanka Bahadur Khadka of misappropriating millions of rupees between the fiscal years 2012-13 and 2013-14.
While Adhikari, Dahal and Khadka are accused of embezzling Rs 89.61 million each, Poudel and Bhattarai are charged with misappropriating Rs 88.21 million and Rs 1.4 million respectively.
The CIAA has recommended action against the five transport officials under Clause 7 and Clause 3 (1) of the Corruption Prevention Act 2002.
Earlier on June 18, the CIAA had also filed corruption case against under secretaries Ramesh Prasad Dahal, Bishnu Prasad Poudel and Nayaraj Nepal, accountants Kumar Bahadur Katuwal, Tikaram Adhikari, Suresh Adhikari, Devraj Nepal and Rudra Prasad Dahal on charge of embezzling Rs 612.12 million.
