A man was shot and injured at Mhepi in Kathmandu in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Police said Kalyan Gurung, 28, of Ranibari was shot while travelling on a scooter in between 3:30 to 3:45 am this morning. He was shot by a group travelling in a car, police informed.
Metropolitan police chief SSP Rabindra Singh Dhanuk said Gurung sustained bullet injuries below his knees and is out of danger. He has been receiving treatment at Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.
SP Dhanuk believed the firing could be related between two rival gangs. He added police have launched an investigation into the case.
Police have arrested five persons suspecting their involvement in the firing and they have been kept at custody in Lainchaur.
