Every year, on the day of Bijaya Dashami, a large score of devotees visit this shrine to offer homage and worships to the Bramayani Goddess as there is the belief that one is blessed with happiness, peace and prosperity by offering worships and homage to the Brahamayani and other Nawadurga deities.
Devotees including from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kavrepalanchowk throng this shrine on the day of Bijaya Dashami. Some devotees crawl on their bellies to the temple from home as they believe that it will make the goddess happy and they are bestowed with her blessings.
Devotees along with traditional music bands of Newar community such as Dhimebaja, Bansuri Baja and Dha Baja reached the temple from early morning. Bhaktapur that literally means the place of devotees is the Newar- majority community.
He-buffalo was slaughtered in the temple last night, on the day of Mahanawami, as a symbol of Mahishasura (demonic spirit), and devotees visiting the shrine today were offered the meat of sacrificed buffalo as 'prasad'.
