Sources said RJP-N leader Mahendra Raya Yadav, accompanied by CPN (Maoist Center) leader Matrika Yadav, had reached to the PM asking him to defer polls in Nawalparasi, Rupandehi and Kapilvastu districts of province 5. PM Deuba sent him back urging him not to propose deferring polls again, source said.
PM Deuba was also not pleased with RJP-N decision to continue with protest programmes when the election in province number 2 was postponed in consensus with the RJP-N leaders.
PM's personal aide Bhanu Deuba, however, refuted reports of any such proposals made by the Madhesi leaders. "The meeting was focused on personal and not political matters. They did not come here asking to defer elections," said Bhanu Deuba.
RJP-N leader Yadav made no comments about his meeting with the prime minister.
