UML not to back party’s corrupt local reps

Addressing a function organised to congratulate the party’s elected local representatives in Province 3 on Monday, the former prime minister and party chief clarified that the party would not back any representatives who are engaged in corrupt activities and behaviours.
The leader clarified that the party would promote those who accomplish their duties effectively and create opportunities of prosperity for the local people. Nepal urged all the representatives to act in a way to bring fame to the party.
Another UML leader Jhala Nath Khanal said there were efforts to postpone the second phase of local polls.
Party general secretary Ishwor Pokhrel asked all the local representatives of the party to hand over their responsibilities to party colleagues and focus on the tasks at the local level.
