A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) on Monday arrested two people for their alleged involvement in smuggling gold.
The police team arrested Rojina Rai, 24, of Jarayotar-2, Bhojpur, currently residing at Harisiddhi, Lalitpur and Deepak Pradhan, 33, of Itahari, Sundari, presently living at Gongabu, Kathmandu, along with 1.4 kilograms of illegally imported gold from a vehicle used by the duo.
The arrested individuals had concealed the illegal gold inside the master cylinder of the vehicle.
