Election Commission said all the preparations for local bodies election in province 3, 4 and 6 on May 14 have been completed.

Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav, in a press meet in Kathmandu on Saturday, said government has taken strict security measures for the polls and appealed voters to exercise their voting rights without any fear.

Yadav said those who could not collect their voters ID card can use other valid ID cards like citizenship, driving licence, passport or social security allowance documents to cast their ballots.

Yadav thanked government, neighbouring countries, donor agencies, development agencies and media organisations for their continuous support and cooperation for the election.

There are a total of 4,956,925 registered voters in three provinces where the first phase of voting is scheduled for Sunday.
