Speaker alleges judiciary of infringing on House’s prerogatives

Talking to breifly to mediapersons before leaving the Legislature-Parliament following the deferral of House meet for May 18, Speaker Gharti said that every state organ should abide by their jurisdiction. “The constitution has clearly stated the role of each state organ,” said Speaker Gharti, “I believe that everyone should comply with the constitutional jurisdiction.”
Speaker Gharti further said that the tussle between top state bodies would hamper in the institutionalisation of democracy and the upcoming local level elections.
“Everyone should introspect and work towards resolving the matter with patience and tolerance,” said Gharti, “I have postponed the House meet until May 18 to find solution through discussion and dialogue.”
Responding to only one question from the mediapersons before leaving, Speaker Gharti said that the issue should be resolved through dialogue as “the nation is at a critical juncture.”
