The Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, says it will mobilise around 3,500 police personnel in the Capital for the first phase of local polls scheduled for May 14.
These personnel will be stationed at 687 polling centres, said SSP Chhabilal Joshi of the range. “An additional 2,700 volunteers will assist our force at different areas.”
According to SSP Joshi, a group of five regular police personnel and five volunteers will be stationed at each polling centre. The Capital has one metropolis (Kathmandu) and five municipalities—Shankarapur, Kageshwori Manohara, Gokarneshwor, Budhanilkantha, Tokha, Tarkeshwor, Nagarjun, Chandragiri, Kirtipur and Dakshin Kali.
