Industry Minister and Nepali Congress leader Nabindra Raj Joshi on Tuesday accompanied his brother, in breach of election code of conduct, while the latter went to submit his nomination to contest in the local polls from Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

Joshi reached Rastriya Sabha Griha to file nomination of Raju Raj Joshi, a mayoral candidate for KMC from Nepali Congress.  Raju Joshi is elder brother of Nabindra Raj Joshi.

The Election Code of Conduct has forbidden a minister from visiting the Election Commission’s registration office with a nominee.

Coincidentally, Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav was himself present at the nomination venue for inspection.

Minister Joshi tried to defend his visit by saying that he had come to Sabha Griha in the Capacity of family member. “Raju is my brother. I have come here as a family member not as a minister,” said Minister Joshi.
