Bibeksheel Nepal Party took to the streets to protest the impeachment motion filed at the parliament by the ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress against Chief Justice Sushila Karki.
The protest was organised at Maharajgunj, Chakrapath, in the Capital.
A press statement issued by the party states that the party’s serious attention has been drawn towards the current move of the ruling coalition saying that the party views the move as an attempt to foil the upcoming local level elections.
The party has also called into question the intent of the signatories of the motion and asked what was the need for the lawmakers to file the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice whose tenure was scheduled to be over on June 7.
