Morcha strike impact minimal in Valley
The impact of the general strike called by the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) has been minimal in the Kathmandu Valley with considerable number of vehicles plying the roads.The impact of the general strike called by the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) has been minimal in the Kathmandu Valley with considerable number of vehicles plying the roads.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested 85 people from the Valley while trying to enforce the banda.
The police have arrested 43 Morcha cadres from Lalitpur, 33 from Kathmandu and 9 from Bhaktapur while trying to obstruct vehicles from plying on the road, informed Ranipokhari-based Metropolitan Police Office.
A huge number of security personnel have been deployed to stop any untoward incident from happening.
There has not been any demonstration and untoward incidents inside the valley, according to the traffic police.
The SLMM is enforcing the strike in protest of the death of its cadres in police firing on Monday in Saptari. The private vehicles are plying the road without hindrances while some private schools are also running. RSS
