A meeting between the ruling parties—CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress—and the dissenting Madhesi Morcha ended inconclusively on Tuesday.
The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar discussed issues related to Constitution Amendment, local level elections and determining the number of local units.
During the meeting, Morcha leaders reiterated their stance of not holding the local election before the amendment. While PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that he will try his level best to pass the amendment proposal.
CPN (MC) Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal, after the meeting, said the leaders agreed to hold joint parleys with parties supporting the incumbent government soon.
